PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA

Abstract


One of the problems in learning mathematics is the ability of mathematical communication that is still relatively low. In addition, in the learning of teachers are still using conventional learning so that communication between teachers and learners still tend unidirectional, this learning activity emphasizes the delivery of information verbally, so that learners in understanding and mastering the material are still lacking. Alternative learning that allows to improve the ability of mathematics that is with learning models Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The purpose of this research is to know whether there is influence of learning model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) to students' mathematical communication ability. This type of research is Quasi Experimental research. The population of this study is all students of class VII MTs Al-Khairiyah Natar 2015/2016 Lesson Year which amounted to 66 students. The sampling technique used was a random sampling, where the experimental group consisted of 22 students and a control group consisting of 22 students. Technique of data analysis in this research uses T test. Based on the calculation of t-test obtained at arithmetic = 5.772 and table = 4,098, it appears that t arithmetic> t table. Thus, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected, so the meaning can be concluded that there is influence of learning model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) to students' mathematical communication ability.
