ANALISIS BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA DENGAN PEMBELAJARAN SOCRATES KONTEKSTUAL DI SMP NEGERI 1 PADANGRATU LAMPUNG TENGAH

Abstract


This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills with Socrates contextual learning. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study are the students of SMP Negeri 1 Padangratu Lampung Tengah class VII-F by purposive sampling. The research subjects are five students from each level of critical thinking ability. Data collection has been done by the observation, written test, interview, and documentation. Data validity used triangulation technique. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The result of the research shows that the critical thinking ability of grade VII-F students of SMP Negeri 1 Padangratu Lampung Tengah is belong to enough category. This can be seen from the average of critical thinking skill test of class VII-F students is 65,43 and in critical thinking ability which more dominant are the students with enough category with percentage 46,4% from 28 student. Students with critical thinking skills are visible enough to do the questions well in indicators providing a simple explanation, excellent in basic skills building indicators, lacking in conclusive indicators, both in indicators making further explanations, and sufficient in indicators of strategies and tactics. In general, students who are active when learning with Socrates contextual learning show the results that tend to be better than students who are less active in learning.
