PROBLEM SOLVING DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA

Abstract


Problem solving is part of the thinking process. Thinking in problem solving and create something new is a complex activity and is closely related to one another. A general problem can not be solved without thinking, and many problems require new solutions for each individual or group. In the learning process, especially the subjects of mathematics, teachers need to provide an opportunity for students to develop their own thoughts. Students not only receive the information submitted by teachers, but in how these students obtain other information. Thus, students can maximize his way of thinking to get a good settlement issues. Problem Solving may facilitate students in solving difficult problems, so it is expected that students get quality results. There is a four-step problem-solving process. As for the move is to understand the problem, make a plan, implement the plan, and check back. The move is to encourage students to think scientifically, practical, intuitive and work on own initiative, cultivate an attitude of objective, honest and open. In this article will be presented about problem solving in mathematics, strengths and weaknesses, and research findings related to problem solving
